Welcome to our twice yearly Spires & Steeples Trail Festival.

The festival is the pride of Sleaford's trail running events and brings together members of the community to celebrate successes, goals and development.
We offer affordable entry, well stocked aid stations, supportive volunteers and marked routes, optional T-shirts may be purchased with your tickets.
All of our distances have generous cut-off times which can be walked if desired.
We offer 10km, half marathon, marathon and ultra marathon distances on our events.

10km & Half Marathon Events
10km Event
Registration Time:
Friday 1700-2000hrs
Saturday 0600-0930hrs
Start Time: 1000hrs
Cut Off Time: 1230hrs
Route Type: Circular, trail, flat.
Start Location: Jim's Gym, Sleaford.
Finish Location: Jim's Gym, Sleaford.

Half Marathon Event
Registration Time:
Friday 1700-2000hrs
Saturday 0600-0830hrs
Start Time: 0900hrs
Cut Off Time: 1500hrs
Route Type: Linear, trail with short road sections, flat.
Start Location: Jim's Gym, Sleaford.
Finish Location & Return Transport:
Metheringham, Train or pre-booked taxi.

Route Type: Linear, trail with short road sections, flat except Steep Hill.

Ultra Marathon Event

Start Time: 0700hrs
Cut Off Time: 2359hrs
Route Type: Linear, circular with short road sections, flat except Steep Hill.
Start Location: Jim's Gym, Sleaford.
Finish Location : Jim's Gym, Sleaford.

Aid Stations & Volunteering
Aid Stations
Across the route there will be aid stations and marshal points.
Aid stations will hold provisions of food, water and supplies.
Marshal points are to support navigation, route management and crossing points.
Aid Station Manning
Our aid stations will be manned by local run clubs, businesses and community engagement platforms.
These agencies will be advertising their own networks whilst you run.

Alongside our aid station volunteers we require marshals and administrative volunteers to support the race director in the smooth running of this event.

What is the Spires & Steeples Trail Festival?
A multi-distance trail running event in Lincolnshire, starting in Sleaford and following the Spires and Steeples route towards Lincoln. Distances include 10km, Half Marathon, Marathon, and a 50 Mile Ultra.

Can I walk the event?
Yes—participants are welcome to walk, provided they can meet the official cut-off times.
Can I run with my dog or do canicross?
No. This is a strictly no dogs / no canicross event.
Are entries refundable or transferable?
Entries are subject to our Refund, Deferral and Transfer Policy.

Is the route marked?
Yes. The route will be clearly marked and supported by volunteers at key locations.
However, this is a trail event—participants should remain aware of signage and surroundings at all times.
Are roads closed?
No. This is an open route event.
